A Reliable Place to Park in Rapid City

Finding a place to park your food truck in Rapid City—especially during peak times—can be a challenge.

Elevate Rapid City is opening a designated food truck lot at 200 E. Main Street to provide an additional, reliable option for mobile food vendors.

This lot is designed to complement existing locations across the city and support continued activity in the Rapid City Innovation District.

How the Lot Works

  • The lot holds up to 7 food trucks at a time
  • 5 spaces are reservable in advance
  • 2 spaces are first come, first served for registered vendors

If fewer than 5 trucks are reserved, additional registered vendors may still park until the lot reaches capacity.

All vendors must be registered before parking.
Unregistered trucks are not permitted to operate on-site.

Scheduling

Operating hours are 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Scheduling is first come, first served.
You may reserve in advance or utilize open same-day availability.

This is not intended to replace other food truck locations in Rapid City—it’s an additional option designed to help fill a common gap:

When high-demand areas (like Founders Park) are full, vendors often have limited alternatives.

This lot provides:

  • A consistent location to add into your weekly rotation
  • Flexibility for both scheduled and weather-dependent operations

Vendor Requirements

To register, you will need:

  • Valid business license
  • South Dakota sales tax license
  • State health license
  • Proof of insurance

Registration is currently free for this initial launch period.
