Elevate Rapid City recently celebrated several local businesses through ribbon cuttings recognizing business growth, expanded partnerships, and continued investment in the Rapid City region.

Interstate Engineering Expands Local Presence Through TerraSite Design Acquisition

Interstate Engineering celebrated its ribbon cutting at 1635 Deadwood Avenue following the acquisition of TerraSite Design, a Rapid City firm founded by longtime business partners Shane Matt and Eirik Heikes.

The transition brings additional resources and collaboration opportunities to the local team while maintaining the relationships and community knowledge TerraSite Design built in Rapid City.

“Having lived in Rapid City for nearly 35 years and worked here as a civil engineer, I’ve seen how every project, big or small, connects to the heart of our community,” shared Shane Matt.

Eirik Heikes added, “I’m proud to call Rapid City home. I’m thrilled to continue serving the community and look forward to helping build a progressive city.”

The ribbon cutting marked a new phase for the team and reinforced the value of local expertise in shaping thoughtful community development.

ISG Builds on Longstanding Commitment to the Black Hills

ISG celebrated the acquisition of ARC International, now operating as ISG, with a ribbon cutting at its Rapid City office at 5808 Sheridan Lake Road.

ISG is a full-service architecture, engineering, environmental, and planning firm serving communities across the country. With the addition of the Rapid City office, ISG now has four locations in South Dakota.

“This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver thoughtful, creative solutions for our local clients and community while continuing our long-standing commitment to the Black Hills region,” the company shared.

The acquisition allows ISG to expand its work in western South Dakota while bringing additional resources, talent, and services to clients throughout the region.

Rapid City/Black Hills KOA Opens New Guest Amenities

Rapid City/Black Hills KOA celebrated the grand opening of its new General Store and Registration Building at 3010 East Highway 44.

Established in 1964, the campground has long served travelers visiting Rapid City and the Black Hills. The new additions are designed to improve the guest experience while supporting the campground’s role in the local tourism economy.

Known for its family-friendly atmosphere and convenient location, the KOA serves as both a destination and a home base for visitors exploring western South Dakota.

“Rapid City is known as the gateway to the Black Hills, and the KOA plays a direct role in bringing visitors into the area,” the business shared.

The new General Store and Registration Building continue the campground’s investment in hospitality, tourism, and visitor services.
