Mostly Chocolates has been a sweet staple in the Rapid City business community for more than 40 years. As an artisan chocolate factory and retail store, they ship to all 48 continental states.
After many years of success, they recently moved to a new location. Now located at 7201 Mt Rushmore Road (out on Highway 16, by Salt Block Burgers), Mostly Chocolates offers their same line of artisan chocolates and have expanded their coffeeshop offerings, operating as MC Coffee House. The Coffee House offers ample seating and meeting space, ideal for people looking for a place to meet on the southside of Rapid City.
As part of the expansion process, Mostly Chocolates worked with Elevate Rapid City. Elevate was able to provide a microloan to assist with buildout and connected them with additional funding resources. They were also able to provide traffic data to through the Market Research Center to help identify possible locations.
“Being a business-owner is both thrilling and stressful,” said Mostly Chocolates owner, Peggy Porch. “It is very comforting to have an active business resource like Elevate providing support and encouragement. They have their finger on the pulse of the Black Hills business community and work in a very proactive way to help us all grow and prosper.”
A grand opening ribbon cutting was held in February, a marker of one of their busiest weeks as loved ones are buying Valentine’s Day gifts.
“I am incredibly excited to celebrate Mostly Chocolates’ expansion in Rapid City,” said Kallie Ruland, business development manager at Elevate Rapid City. “This growth not only provides additional one-of-a-kind delicious treats to our community but also stimulates our local economy, by creating new jobs and opportunities.”
