Are you ready to transform into a proactive, visionary leader? The Elevate Leadership Institute (ELI) offers an opportunity for individuals across the Black Hills region to develop crucial leadership skills. Learn from Anna Gilligan (City of Rapid City), a 2024 graduate of ELI, on why you should apply for the 2024-2025 ELI Program:
Building Valuable Connections
ELI provides a unique platform to connect with diverse professionals, fostering relationships that can enhance both personal and professional growth. Whether participants want to build a more robust network or seek mentorship, ELI offers the perfect environment to meet like-minded leaders.
Anna Gilligan highlights the program's invaluable networking opportunities: "The networking and making connections with other people at different businesses around Rapid City was invaluable."
Enhancing Facilitation Skills
ELI sessions equip participants with essential skills that improve their effectiveness and communications in the workplace, ensuring that you leave each session with actionable knowledge. The sessions are tailored to meet the practical needs of participants, offering insights that can be directly applied to their current job roles.
Anna shares her experience: "I really enjoyed the session that talked about meeting facilitation. That's something that I do in my role at the city. Learning a little bit more about the different roles of a facilitator and the different styles of meetings was very helpful and something that I have been able to apply to my work life."
Boosting Confidence in Public Speaking
The focus on public speaking throughout ELI helps participants become more persuasive and impactful communicators, a vital skill for any leader. One key takeaway from the ELI program is the increase in confidence while speaking publicly.
Anna emphasizes the confidence she gained: "ELI helped me gain a lot of confidence in my public speaking. There were a lot of public speaking aspects throughout the courses of the class, and it was cool to see improvement in not only myself but also my classmates as we progressed through the program."
