Whether a business or organization is just getting started, joining Elevate Rapid City as an investor, or celebrating another milestone, a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is the perfect way to recognize successes in the business community. August and September were busy months and included Ribbon Cuttings for the Central States Fair, Rapid City Kung Fu, Art Alley, Pure Medical Aesthetics, and Red Rock Apartments.
Central States Fair Kick-Off

A Ribbon Cutting ceremony took place on the Monument Community Health Stage to kick off the start of the 78th annual Central States Fair. Mayor Jason Salamun, Elevate Rapid City, multiple officials, and other entities participated in the fun event. A highlight of the Ribbon Cutting was when Mayor Salamun declared the week of August when the fair takes place as the Central States Fair Week.
Rapid City Kung Fu

A Ribbon Cutting celebrated Rapid City Kung Fu’s grand opening at the business’s new location, 125 Waterloo St. Sifu Peterson owns Rapid City Kung Fu and began his martial arts journey in 1975. He has trained in Okinawa many times, studying with multiple instructors each time, earning certifications, including teaching certificates and numerous Black Belts.
Art Alley Underground Infrastructure Completion

A Ribbon Cutting for the completion of the Art Alley Underground Infrastructure project recognized the project’s impact on the enhancement of Downtown Rapid City. Elevate Rapid City was invited on behalf of Black Hills Energy and the Rapid City Arts Council and stayed to enjoy the final First Friday Art Walk featuring local artists, musicians, and a community mural painting in Art Alley.
Pure Medical Aesthetics

Pure Medical Aesthetics reached a significant milestone, “with it being [their] sixth anniversary. [They] wanted to do [their] grand re-opening in September and took over the whole bottom area of the building on 525 Kansas City Street.” Their med spa in Rapid City offers access to exceptional aesthetic treatments performed by trained and qualified professionals. They even “have clients who drive from a 300-mile radius to get [their] services.” Additionally, they took advantage of a Façade Loan from Elevate Rapid City so “[they] could get a new sign and get the beautiful mural on the building.”
Red Rock Apartments

Located at 7175 Dunsmore Rd., the Red Rock Apartments brought in Food by Ugly Graffiti Food Truck and music by Chris Beyer from Kory and the Fireflies for their grand opening. Red Rock offers multiple community and home amenities as some of Rapid City’s newest one- and two-bedroom apartment homes. The complex includes a sparkling pool, dog park, and 24/7 fitness center.
