Established 25 years ago in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Omnitech began with a man named Joe Krizan, who worked to provide a local option for software engineering solutions. Twenty years after its start, Omnitech expanded into the Rapid City market, allowing the company to provide full coverage across South Dakota.

A Microsoft Gold Partner in Data Platforms and Analytics, this cutting-edge software and data engineering firm began their journey into the Rapid City market with the support of the Ascent Innovation Center, now the David Lust Accelerator Building, and Elevate Rapid City. Omnitech quickly began working closely with the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology to offer opportunities to graduates and retain local talent in Rapid City.

It was only a matter of time before Omnitech grew out of the Ascent Innovation Center.

Last month, a local Ribbon Cutting celebrated Omnitech for multiple accomplishments, the first being their five-year anniversary of expanding into Rapid City and the second being the grand opening of their new business location at 11 Main St

For five years and counting, Omnitech has worked vigorously to assist the local businesses of the Black Hills in developing innovative strategies and growing their organizations. The company’s strong presence in the Black Hills has created countless meaningful relationships with local businesses, helping them leverage new technology and trends to develop profitable and innovative organizations.

While valuing and nurturing relationships with local businesses is very important to Omnitech, the company also emphasizes facilitating a positive environment for its employees. Omnitech strongly believes in creating and maintaining a learning culture and invests in continuing education, mentoring programs, and weekly brainstorming sessions.

In addition to providing opportunities and support to their employees, Omnitech also works to help grow the Black Hills region in every facet of STEM. In March of 2023, Omnitech held its first iNSPiRE event for women in STEM at the School of Mines. They are working to introduce young women to the various STEM fields and want to encourage them to pursue a career in STEM.

Omnitech is not just a tech company creating engineering solutions; they are a force driving innovation and positive change throughout the Black Hills, South Dakota, and multiple surrounding states.
