The SunCatcher Therapeutic Riding Academy kicked off their Special Olympics Area Show, with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony hosted by Elevate Rapid City. The community was invited to watch as participants showcased skills they learned through their Special Olympics Equestrian and Therapeutic Horsemanship sessions. The event included the horse show and rodeo, games, live music, and a free will donation lunch.
Located at 23325 South Airport Road, the SunCatcher Therapeutic Riding Academy is a nonprofit organization providing inclusive equine-assisted therapeutic horsemanship, guided by instructors, that empower people with disabilities to flourish and thrive. Their instructors are experienced and follow the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) standards. Their instructors and trained volunteers are dedicated to making it a safe, educational, and joyous experience for every rider. The SunCatcher Therapeutic Riding Academy uses gentle and well-trained horses for both mounted and ground-work sessions. These horses have been conditioned to the necessary equipment and motion associated with therapeutic horsemanship.

SunCatcher is a nonprofit organization that exists because of the generous donations of the community, family, and friends of their riders along with funding from businesses, organizations, foundations, and grants.
