The Forge is a training center for personal defense and development, whose goal is a safer, more resilient community, and whose mission is to train and influence as many good people as possible. This is achieved through programs like self-defense, concealed-carry, and traditional martial arts for individuals of all ages and families, as well as by fostering a positive impact on the mind, body, and spirit in all endeavors.
Citizens of the Black Hills have been receiving some of this training since 2005. Just a girl in her black belt teaching women's self-defense turned into Lim Kenpo Karate, which eventually spawned a supplemental program called "Hogosha." This also grew, becoming a standalone program called The Forge, where integrative self-defense and concealed-carry training now lives.
The men and women of The Forge team are local professionals in healthcare, law enforcement and other industries who hold martial arts black belts and instructor certifications from Lim Family Martial Arts, USCCA, NRA, and Integrative Defense Strategies.

Integrative personal defense at The Forge represents a paradigm shift in the martial arts and firearms industries, and it's accessible and beneficial to people of any skill level. No one else in the Black Hills does what they do, and they're proud to be leading the way in this growing community.
The Forge team, along with its membership, wants to see Rapid City grow in safety, kindness, and prosperity for everyone. When possible, 5% of their monthly revenue is donated to a local charity or organization to support neighbors in a way that doesn't necessarily involve dumping them on the training mat!
