Rapid City becomes home to cowboys, horses and wild western action at the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo. This is the second-largest event in South Dakota, following the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held in the Barnett Fieldhouse at The Monument to kick off the week-long event. The days are filled with concerts, rodeos, 10 breeds of cattle sales, a 2-day horse sale, along with over 200 vendors, and seminars to encourage both livestock producers, horse enthusiasts, and the run of the mill city folk to enjoy the western extravaganza.
