WL Plastics is the largest manufacturer of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) solid wall pipe in North America.
In early 2000, Mark Wason and Steve Burns, two longtime industry managers, founded WL Plastics to serve the water, sewer, mining, and industrial pipe demand in the Rocky Mountain region. They quickly grew WL into a strong regional provider of PE pipe in the Rockies.
Following three strong years of growth, they constructed a second plant in Cedar City, Utah. WL rapidly expanded through acquisitions and new greenfield plants. In 2016, WL Plastics was acquired by INEOS, a major chemical company, and now has the financial backing and vertical supply integration to support continued growth and service to our customers.
Most recently, WL expanded with two new plants in Statesboro, GA and Lubbock, TX. WL currently operates eight state of-the-art manufacturing locations in the U.S. (over 800 million pounds of annual production capacity). WL Plastics is also ISO 9001:2015 certified at all locations along with carrying other certifications (FM, NSF, UL, etc).
WL Plastics manufacturers HDPE pressure pipe for oil & gas gathering, water applications (municipal potable & sewer, irrigation), industrial applications, mining applications, and natural gas distribution. These products range from 1/2'' to 54'' diameter and pressure ratings up to 335 psi operating pressures. HDPE pressure pipe is the ideal piping material for the future of our country as it provides a durable, leak-free system designed for a 100-year service life. WL Plastics also manufacturers non-pressure rated HDPE conduit that serves as a protective pathway for telecommunication and power distribution networks, helping connect America with cell service, internet, and un-interrupted power to your home.
WL Plastics focuses on people first and foremost. Their top priority is to ensure the safety of all WL employees and customers. Everyone deserves to know they will return home safely from work, and they continually improve their processes to provide that peace of mind. Customer service is their next priority. WL focuses on responsive and honest communication with all their customers, internal and external. Quality is another key pillar of WL Plastics. They pride themselves on the quality of our relationships, workmanship and ultimately quality of products produced in our plants. They know they have the best product for a sustainable future of our piping infrastructure and stand behind their people and products.

WL Plastics small diameter products are used in irrigation systems to move water where it is needed to support ranching and agricultural operations. Given the drought conditions in the Black Hills area in 2021, this has been a key market for WL Plastics. Their HDPE products fuse together to create a leak-free system, conserving more water than other materials. WL Plastics takes pride in providing a better solution like our irrigation products which support local ranchers, farmers, and businesses. WL Plastics also obtained approval from the Rapid City City Council to trail HDPE potable water service tubing in a local neighborhood. WL is excited for the opportunity to showcase the benefits of our products and know the product will prove itself as the ideal piping solution for the city in the future.
WL Plastics does not want to just be located in a community geographically, they want to be part of the community, connected with it. Since WL Plastics was founded, they have always been involved in community activities and local charities. WL took note of Elevate's initiative to develop the local workforce, attract talent, and focus on economic development of the Black Hills region and wanted to be a contributing community partner to collectively reach that goal.
