Workforce Development Scholarships Announced

The Workforce Development Committee of Elevate Rapid City and the Black Hills Area Community Foundation are pleased to announce the Elevate Rapid City Workforce Development Scholarship winners.
Rapid City residents who are pursuing higher education to advance their skills while attending a Rapid City-based college and commit to successfully participate in the public sector of the Rapid City area community can apply for the scholarship each January.
The applicants selected this year are already champions of the community. Each applicant will be attending school at one of the following institutes: South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State University - Rapid City.
The following student received the 2021 Elevate Rapid City Workforce Development Scholarships: Dexter Carman, $2,500; Cade Jacobson, $2,000; Jacob West, $1,500; and Tyler Kleinsasser, $1,000.
The Elevate Rapid City Workforce Development Committee's mission is to facilitate the relationship between employers, educators, and workers to develop Rapid City's present and future workforce. Our objectives are to support board-level priorities and goals for workforce engagement and partnership development, inform on community workforce development strategies, identify opportunities for work-based learning, and promote resource-sharing to increase efficiencies and alignment.
