Details
Water is something most of us take for granted, until we can't. In April 2026, Rapid City enacted water restrictions earlier than at any point in recent memory, a signal that the pressures facing our region's water supply are no longer a distant concern. They're here.
May's Critical Issues Luncheon will take a close look at West River water; where it comes from, how much we have, and whether it's enough to sustain the growth our region is experiencing. We'll hear from the experts leading the charge on long-range planning and explore what the future of water in the Black Hills looks like.
This conversation matters for every business, developer, and community member in the Black Hills. Join us as we dig into the data and ask the question our region can't afford to ignore: Are we ready?
Joining us on the panel:
- Mike Theis | Public Works Director, City of Rapid City
- Kristin Conzet | Executive Director, Western Dakota Regional Water System
- Dustin Dale | Business Development Director, RCS Construction; President, SD Water and Wastewater Association
Registration closes at end of day on May 5.
