Tyler Wainwright
Tyler Wainwright serves as Director of Information Security and HIPAA Security Officer at Black Hills Works, a nonprofit organization supporting adults with intellectual disabilities. He specializes in developing innovative security governance structures and cost-effective solutions for mission-critical environments, with expertise in GRC, operational security, SIEM & SOAR operations, detection engineering, and AI security and governance.
Tyler champions AI innovation throughout the organization while ensuring robust security frameworks. He has spearheaded Black Hills Works' comprehensive AI transformation, developing security policies while actively driving adoption through strategic use case identification and staff training. As Technology Officer for the organization's Tech-First board, he leads initiatives to find, evaluate, and deploy technologies that improve independence and quality of life for the individuals they support.
He is active in the Cybersecurity Council of South Dakota and the National Defense Information Sharing and Analysis Center (ND-ISAC) and holds a chair position on the Defense Industrial Base Sector Coordinating Council (DIB-SCC).
