During this Forum & Press Club, we will hear from three South Dakota’s Mineral Industries’ experts to share facts about exploration and modern-day mining. Minerals are becoming more and more essential to our everyday lives, national defense, energy security, securing our US supply chains, and green energy transition. Our panel will discuss the advances in modern day mining, the benefits of a domestic minerals supply chain, the implications of when we import minerals, how exploration is only a small part of the mining lifecycle, how industries have co-existed in South Dakota for over 145 years, current water quality impacts in South Dakota, and how South Dakota is positioned to play a role in the US domestic supply chain.
